1. Our approach
litzbet runs entirely in practice mode. You bet with practice credits that have no cash value, so you cannot lose money on this site. That does not make it risk-free. Betting habits are formed by repetition, and the urge to chase a loss or place "one more bet" can develop with practice credits just as it can with money.
We give every account the same set of tools, and we encourage you to set them up before you need them. The site is for adults only: you must be 18 or older to register.
Need to stop right now? Go to your limits and take a time-out or self-exclude. It takes effect immediately and cannot be reversed early.
2. Tools in your account
All the tools below are in Account › Limits.
Top-up limit
Set a daily, weekly or monthly limit on how many practice credits you can add. A single top-up can never exceed 2,000.00 PC, and your own limit can be lower.
- Lowering a limit applies immediately.
- Raising a limit takes effect only after a 7-day cooling-off period. Your old limit stays in force until then.
- You can cancel a pending increase at any time during those 7 days.
Session reminder
Switch on a reminder every 15, 30, 45 or 60 minutes. It shows how long you have been on the site, so time does not slip by unnoticed.
Time-out
Take a break for 24 hours, 7 days or 30 days. During a time-out you cannot place bets or add practice credits.
Self-exclusion
If you want a longer break, self-exclude for 6 months, 1 year or 5 years. Betting and top-ups are blocked for the whole period.
A time-out or self-exclusion cannot be shortened or lifted early, not even by our support team. To make sure the choice is yours, we ask you to confirm it with your password.
Which tool to choose
If you simply want to keep play in proportion, a top-up limit and a session reminder are usually enough. If you notice that you keep going past the point you planned, a short time-out breaks the pattern. If betting is taking up a large part of your thoughts or your time, choose self-exclusion and consider registering with EPIS as well, so that the break covers other sites too.
3. Excluding yourself across Belgium
An exclusion on litzbet applies only to litzbet. To exclude yourself from all licensed gambling in Belgium, including betting shops, online sites, casinos and arcades, you can register with EPIS, the national exclusion register managed by the Belgian Gaming Commission.
You can find out how to apply on the Commission's website at www.gamingcommission.be. If you are not sure whether EPIS is right for you, the help lines below can talk it through with you.
4. A short self-check
Answer these questions honestly. They are about any form of betting, with practice credits or with money.
- Do you bet to win back what you have lost?
- Do you spend more time betting than you planned?
- Do you raise your stakes to get the same excitement?
- Do you feel restless or irritable when you cannot bet?
- Do you bet to escape stress, boredom or low mood?
- Have you hidden how much you bet from people close to you?
- Has betting caused arguments or affected your work, studies or sleep?
- Have you tried to cut down and found you could not?
- Do you think about betting when you are doing other things?
- Have you borrowed money or sold things to bet elsewhere?
If you answered yes to one or more of these, it is worth taking a break and talking to someone. The help lines below are free and confidential.
5. Practical tips
- Decide before you start how long you will play, and switch on the session reminder.
- Set a low top-up limit. It is easy to lower and deliberately slow to raise.
- Treat a run of losses as a signal to stop, not as something to chase.
- Do not bet when you are upset, tired or have been drinking.
- Keep other interests and time with people who do not bet.
- Remember that prices and results on litzbet are simulated. Success here says nothing about how you would do with real money.
- If you use other betting sites, set limits there too.
6. Where to get help
These Belgian services offer free, confidential advice to players and to people worried about someone else:
- Stop op tijd (Dutch): www.stopoptijd.be
- Aide aux joueurs (French): www.aide-aux-joueurs.be
- Belgian Gaming Commission (EPIS exclusion and information): www.gamingcommission.be
You can also contact our support team at support@litzbet.be or through the contact form, every day from 09:00 to 23:00 Brussels time. We can explain the tools, help you set them up or close your account.
7. If you are worried about someone else
Gambling problems often affect partners, parents and friends before the player admits there is a problem. Signs to look for include long periods spent betting, secrecy about phones or accounts, mood swings linked to results, and borrowing money without a clear reason.
Try to talk calmly and without blame, at a time when neither of you is under pressure. Listen more than you speak. You cannot force someone to change, but you can point them to the tools on this page and to the help lines above. Stop op tijd and Aide aux joueurs also support family members directly, so you do not have to manage this alone.
If you think a person under 18 is using litzbet, please tell us at support@litzbet.be and we will look into it.
8. Protecting minors
litzbet is for adults aged 18 and over. We check your date of birth at registration and ask every visitor to confirm their age. If you share a device with children, log out after use, do not save your password in the browser and consider parental control software.
